Time Machine + AirPort Base Station + macOS 13 (Ventura)
With the migration to the new Version of macOS 13 (Ventura), Apple has change the way Time Machine works.
Now Time Machine in Ventura does not support anymore Drive Disk that are Mac OS Extended for new back-up.
In other words, that’s the reason why Time Machine does not recognize your Mac OS Extended drive anymore.
As I understand, it’s for new security reason that Apple has migrated to APFS for the use of Time Machine.
By default Time Machine (in macOS 13 Ventura) is now proposing to format the drive to:
APFS (Case-sensitive)
That’s why your AirPort Base Station (Vintage) with a hard drive known as NAS Drive and working only with Mac OS Extended format are now Deprecated with macOS 13.
That’s why I’m looking for a new NAS system to do my Time Machine Back-up.
That’s what I understand it!
Note: This is base on my personal bug with Time Machine, my AirPort Base Extreme with Ventura(13.1).
Bon à savoir!
Merci!
